Fault Analysis for Water cooled Capacitor
If the capacitor of the Medium Frequency Furnace is burnt out, the main reasons are as follows:
1. The cathode of the electric heating capacitor is grounded. If the insulation of the electric heating capacitor is poor during the use of the electric furnace, the cathode of the capacitor will be grounded and the capacitor shell will break down. If this happens, the insulation of the capacitor cabinet needs to be re treated.
2. Water shortage. During the long-term use of the Medium Frequency Furnace, the Medium Frequency Furnace may scale in the cooling pipe of the capacitor or the water inlet system may be blocked by sundries, which may cause the electric heating capacitor to overheat and burn out. Therefore, pay attention to observe the flow of cooling water of electric heating capacitor during use. If the flow is abnormal, corresponding measures should be taken.
3.If the Medium frequency voltage is adjusted too high during the long-term use of the Medium frequency smelting furnace, which is higher than the rated voltage of the electric heating capacitor (the rated voltage of the Induction heating capacitor has common specifications such as 750V and 1200V), the electric heating capacitor will be over-voltage broken down. If this happens, it is necessary to lower the Medium frequency voltage or replace the capacitor with a model with a high withstand voltage level.
